Let’s talk about the price first the price was steep but well worth it once you got the package. The instructions could be a little bit more exact as far as which screws to use but once you figure that out, wow opening and closing, the vent has definitely been a game changer.

After replacing the entire vent fan in the shower of my 2020 Globetrotter twice, and seeing how a few others had reinforced their plastic handles in ways that I thought looked functional but ugly, I just knew there had to be a better solution. I was researching buying a completely new fan unit with a more robust handle, but was reluctant to remove the OEM fan and risk buying one that didn't fit the cutout. Then I saw this shower vent replacement handle from Upstream Outfitters. It is THE SOLUTION. It looks great, was not hard to install - other than I was worried a little about bending/breaking the metal sleeve in the fan that the new handle attaches to - but it bent fine, flexed back to the original position, and didn't break...so my worries were unfounded. The install only took me about 10 minutes. Just be sure to cover the shower drain in case you drop one of the small screws during installation. A benefit of replacing the handle was that I was also able to remove the fan screen when the handle was off and clean it to look like new, so this fixed something else that bugged me every time I looked up. The fan motor in my shower had also stopped working, and I broke the brittle fan blade when replacing the motor, but both were easy to access from below and on top of the trailer to essentially give me an entirely new fan without having to touch the main housing for the fan that is sealed on the roof. Going forward, if I want to clean my screen again, all I have to do is remove a couple of easily accessible screws from the new Upstream handle and pull the screen out for cleaning. For anyone who, like me, thinks they need to buy an entirely new fan unit, I'd definitely recommend just buying a new handle from Upstream, and if anything else breaks or stops working - like the fan motor or fan blades - just buy a replacement part and install it yourself. No special tools or skills are required. As an added bonus, my upgraded fan with a new motor and blades runs so much smoother and quieter than my old one, which I think was slightly out of balance from years of vibration and dust that accumulated on it and the screen, which I was unable to fully clean. I definitely recommend this upgrade from Upstream Outfitters!

This is a requirement for replacing the flimsy handle Airstream supplies! I broke the original handle the first time I used it! I replaced with this handle and it’s so solid and secure I have no doubt it will last for years. My only regret is I didn’t order one for the bathroom vent as I haven’t broken it yet but it’s only a matter of time!

Installing the vents was fairly easy. A bit of drilling on the old assembly. The result is great. MUCH more flow coming from the vents now. Highly recommend!

After replacing 2 plastic handles and faced with one of them cracking again, I purchased two. They came in a couple of days and although the installation space was tight, they both went in in under an hour total. Just follow the video and do not pull the mounting blocks away from the metal struts while installing. Look great! And feel solid. Thanks for the upgrade!’

We delayed the install because our unit was in storage. We had some minor hiccups during the install. My eyesight is not the best so had some minor difficulties drilling out the rivets, so I started with A very small drill bit to prevent the drill from walking off the rivets. I had to finesse to get the Airstream sheet metal and insulation under the tabs. Other than that I am very pleased with the product, function and the final look of the vents

Upstream installed 6 of these Vent Upgrade Kits for us at the Airstream Club's International Rally in York PA lat month. These vents made a grate improvement in the airflow in our rig. They responded immediately when I needed a copy of my receipt. sd
