Super frustrated that we couldn’t tighten the original airstream screws without binding up the interior door handle. This is the PERFECT FIX.!!! The whole mechanism feels tight and solid now… plus the handle no longer binds up! If you have a newer airstream with the newer door lock style, this is a MUST HAVE! Thank you for a great product Airstream Outfitters!
4 stars as it’s not so much the product but more the application itself. The spacer lines up nicely “IF” the inside of the Airstream door is cut precisely. In my case having a left hand hinge door (opens front to back) on my caravel the lock and handle is inverted and is mounted upside down. The door interior trim was cut to just fit the lock and I had to “shimmy” the spacer underneath the door panel to line up the holes. Once I got it in place it worked fine and the door screws are tight and not binding the mechanism.
I also installed the “PIN kit” as well to prevent the pin migration issue. No point in doing the one without the other.
Both these solutions shouldn’t be needed with a few tweaks from Airstream BUT thankfully upstream outfitters has a solution.
